Description
Everything you need to build your own 48V 20Ah lithium battery. Simply solder the included 3.7V 20Ah modules together in series using the included pure nickel strips to create a 48V 20Ah battery. It’s perfect for an electric bicycle, electric skateboard, off-grid cabin, DIY powerwall or any other energy storage use.
This battery can provide up to 1,500 watts of continuous use, though it is recommended to keep it closer to 1,000 watts most of the time, with peaks of up to 1,500 watts. This will provide the best performance and longest lifetime of the pack, ensuring you achieve the full 800 cycles that the cells are rated for.

The final size of the battery is approximately 9 inches x 5 inches x 2.75 inches and weighs 8.6 lbs.
Note: This kit is available for pre-order and will begin to ship on April 13th, 2017.
Included in this kit are:
- 13x 3.7V 20Ah modules based on the popular Panasonic 18650B cell originally used by Tesla Motors
- 30A continuous balancing Battery Management System (BMS) with wires already presoldered
- XT-90 discharge connectors with 50 cm 12 AWG silicone wires presoldered
- 2.5mm DC charger connector (to add to your charger)
- XT-90 discharge connector with 20 cm 12 AWG silicone wires presoldered (to add to your ebike)
- Roll of 100% pure nickel strip
- Foam protector sheets for safe packaging of your completed battery
- Multiple sizes of heat shrink for sealing the battery
- Positive (+) and negative (-) stickers for ease of labeling during assembly
- Small diameter heat shrink for changing wire lengths (if necessary)
This kit does not include a charger. You will need a charger meant for 13s 48V li-ion batteries. A lithium battery charger with a charge voltage of 54.6V is perfect for this battery. A 2A charger is recommended for longest battery life, but you can use up to a 5A charger for faster charging. We recommend this inexpensive but effective charger.
